Sadler To Drive A Toyota At New Hampshire

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

Elliott Sadler is expected to be driving a Toyota this weekend at New Hampshire. Just not in the series you would expect. According to the New Hampshire Nationwide Series entry list, Sadler will be driving the #10 Auto Value/Bumper-To-Bumper Toyota for Braun Racing; The team Sadler’s Sprint Cup team, Richard Petty Motorsports, partnered up with just weeks ago. Sadler will become the first driver out of the RPM stable(with the exception of AJ Allmendinger, who drove two seasons for Team Red Bull) to drive a Toyota. Strange, considering just two days ago everybody thought for sure that Kasey Kahne would be the [...]

Fans: NASCAR Needs To Even Up Competition; Kahne Should Go To Stewart-Haas; Hyundai In NASCAR? Yeah Right!

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Over the past few weeks, our comment wall has been flooded with the fans’ opinions on many different issues. Beginning this week, I will be starting up a weekly segment dedicated to the opinions of the fans, and will include only the best comments from the previous week. The first comment of the week comes from Ron, who commented on this article. Ron believes that NASCAR has been partial to the Bow-tie brigade for way too long: If you look at history, Nascar has always been partial to Chevys,go backin the 60`s when the Hemi and the Cobra Jets were roaring [...]

Hopper Takes SCS Freeroll at Infineon

AUTHOR: | IN: Stock Car Spin Freeroll | COMMENTS: None Yet

The field was over twice the size at Infineon as it was at Michigan, as we went from having 5 players at MIS to having 12 for Infineon. But Yours Truly still took the 100 tokens by over 100 points for this weekend’s Stock Car Spin Freeroll. Zach Best of Fansided.com took home 25 tokens for finishing second. While those tokens may not seem like much now, pretty soon they will be valuable, as 365fantasysports.com will be opening up a brand new online store, and you will be able to use your tokens to buy awesome swag. Your standings at [...]

Kahne To Toyota Denied By Source

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

Yesterday, I reported that Kasey Kahne would be officially switching to Toyota as soon as August. The report was premature, and has since been denied by Jayski.com. It is still likely that we will see Kahne in a Toyota eventually, but it appears that it will not be this year. As soon as it happens, then, and only then, we will let you know. The article has been yanked from the site, and I personally apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you, Hopper,  Stock Car Spin

Needed: A Solution To Kyle Busch’s Problem

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

The following is a message of mere sarcasm and is not to be taken seriously. America, it is time to quit whining about our slumping economy. It is time to stop fretting over a possible nuclear war with North Korea. It is time to cease our concern for the homeless and hungry. We have a more important issue on our hands: Kyle Busch keeps showing up to races to finish second, and he’s getting frustrated. You could hear the disappointment in his voice Saturday at Milwaukee after the poor soul, who won only 21 races a year ago, including 8 in [...]

Kasey Kahne Could Complete Sprint Car Dream Team

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

For the first time in his 6-year Sprint Cup Series career, Kasey Kahne’s name is being mentioned during Silly Season. Though Kahne’s contract with Richard Petty Motorsports does not expire until after 2010, an opportunity may be coming for him that would be too good to pass up. Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner and Sprint Cup Series points leader, Tony Stewart told sources that, due to his organization’s vast success, they may consider expanding their two-car operation to a three-car operation in the near future. How near is near? It sounds like 2010. Other drivers being rumored to go to SHR’s potential 3rd car include Jamie [...]

Martin, Gordon, Earnhardt Jr. Finally Affected By The Economy

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

The economic downturn has finally hit the top of the NASCAR pendulum, as two major announcements in one week may both have negative effects on NASCAR’s top organization. The first one is that Kellogg’s and Carquest are unsure of their future in the Hendrick organization. Kellogg’s has been a long time Hendrick sponsor, and is the current sponsor of Mark Martin’s #5 Chevrolet. While both Kellogg’s and Carquest are unsure of their future aboard the #5, car owner Rick Hendrick expects both to come back in 2010, at least in some capacity. However, the sponsor search will still be on, [...]

NASCAR Welcomes Back The “Road-Course Ringers”

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to the road-course in Sonoma, California this weekend, which can mean only two things. We get to see something other than left turns, and the return of our beloved road-course ringers. Among these “Ringers” includes Boris Said, who is always a threat when the circuit hits Infineon Raceway. He will be piloting the #08 No Fear Energy Drink Ford Fusion for the small team owned by John Carter of North Georgia. These guys are not just a favorite; They are a sentimental favorite. Another “Ringer” in the field will be Ron Fellows. Fellows’ multi-turn [...]

Kahne Needs A Manufacturer Switch

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 11 Comments

Three weeks ago, Kasey Kahne was given the best engine Dodge has. He has since been to a pair of his favorite tracks, Pocono and Michigan. Both times, he finished outside the top 10. It hasn’t been due to lack of performance. Kahne was running 2nd at Pocono and 8th at Michigan before fuel strategy came into play. Unfortunately, under a newly passed NASCAR rule, it is required that every Dodge in the field folds at the mere mention of a fuel mileage race. Okay, not really. But if you look at the last few weeks, you would certainly think [...]
