Dale Earnhardt Gets a Roller-Coaster: Intimidator 305

The coaster’s A-pex is at 305 feet, thus the name. Intimidator 305 will be the tallest gravity-driven roller-coaster on the East Coast, and at a top speed of 92 MPH, will also be the fastest. Intimidator 305′s cars will be designed after Earnhardt’s old #3 car, and will even have the trademark Chevy bow-tie on the front. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Is Back? Not So Fast!
If you haven’t heard about Dale Earnhardt Jr’s third place finish in Sunday’s 3M Performance 400 at Michigan by now, you probably aren’t a NASCAR fan. Stories about his run on Sunday have flooded the web. And with them, questions about whether or not the real Dale Earnhardt Jr. is actually “back”. That depends on your definition of who the “real” Dale Earnhardt Jr. is. If the “real” Junior is the guy who runs mid-pack all day until he (your misfortune here), as a lot of you tend to think, then he technically never left. If the “real” Junior is the guy [...]
The “Day After” Discussion: Michigan
Another week. Another race. And you know what that means. It’s time for your favorite part of the work-week, the “Day After” Discussion! Every week, I open up the comment wall for discussion to allow fans to openly express their opinion on the weekend’s action. As always, I will begin by raising a few questions myself, in order to get things moving: Are you satisfied with the winner? Is Toyota’s victory in the backyard of the Big 3 symbolic of today’s tough economic times? Did Mark Martin and Alan Gustufson put their Chase hopes on life support by gambling on [...]

Brian Vickers outlasted the field on fuel mileage at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, earning his 2nd career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win. The win was also the first for Toyota in the backyard of the Big 3, as well as Team Red Bull’s first triumph in a points event. Vickers had one of the fastest cars of the day to begin with. Starting from the pole, Vickers ran much of the race behind Hendrick teammates Mark Martin and Jimmie Johnson, both of whom ran out of fuel at the end of the race, finishing outside the top 30. But while [...]
NASCAR’s most underrated driver may have a full-time ride in 2010. According to a bit that scrolled across the bottom of the screen during ESPN2′s telecast of Saturday’s Nationwide Series Carfax 250 at Michigan, ESPN’s Dave Newton has reported that Regan Smith and Furniture Row Racing have agreed to a deal(terms undisclosed) that will allow the 25-year old Moorseville, North Carolina driver to run the full 36-race Sprint Cup Series schedule in 2010. If Smith is not NASCAR’s most underrated driver, then he is certainly high up in the category. Smith, the 2008 Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year, has finished [...]

The clock is ticking. The NFL fans are anxiously waiting. They’re palms are sweating. They cannot control their goosebumps. For tonight at midnight, it will be released. It is Madden ’10. Meanwhile, we, the NASCAR fans, who have played the life out of our NASCAR ’09 game for the past 13 months, are still waiting to hear any speck of news as to when NASCAR’s next video game will hit store shelves. If it ever does. Yes, I, like you, am a gamer. You might say I have an obsession over NASCAR ’09. I am even in a league, and I am to [...]
