Stock Car Spin’s Sprint Cup Champion Pick
Alright fans! The Chase is about to begin. And before it does, I’d like to, once again, congratulate those 12 drivers that made it in. It took a lot of hard work to come this far. Unfortunately, though, only one driver will win it all. Many believe that Jimmie Johnson will win a record-breaking 4th consecutive title. I’m not one of them. Others believe this is the year that Mark Martin finally gets the title, or Jeff Gordon completes his Drive for Five, or even that Tony Stewart will win the title in his first year as an owner/driver. That’s about [...]

Does Tim Brewer Bore You?
When you are watching a NASCAR race on ESPN, and the announcers ask Tim Brewer down in the Tech Center to “elaborate” on something, do you often find yourself groaning? I’ll be honest. I usually do. I think it’s because what he says is either a.( So obvious everybody already understands it, or b.( So confusing that nobody could possibly understand it. If you’re like me, you will probably find this video to be at least semi-accurate. And perhaps a bit funny. I found it on Youtube: Tim Brewer Mock Video
2010 NASCAR Schedule Released; No Major Changes
NASCAR unveiled its 2010 schedule today. There were no major changes, as all 22 venues will still play host to the same number of races as they did in 2009. The only changes were that the Spring Dover race will be held May 16, as opposed to its usual early June date, to allow the Coca-Cola 600 to stay on Memorial Day weekend. And the Spring Texas and Phoenix races swapped dates to accommodate the Master’s golf tournament. Your 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Schedule(by venue, courtasy of Jayski.com) Feb. 6 Daytona International Speedway (Budweiser Shootout At Daytona *) Feb. 14 [...]
How Did Brian Vickers Make the Chase? Irony and Dale Jr.
The final run Brian Vickers made into the Chase will go down as one of the best ever. Over the 8 races leading up to the Chase, nobody scored more points than Vickers, who earned 6 top 10s and a win at Michigan during that stretch. By all means, a run that propelled him into his first ever Chase for the Sprint Cup. But if you want to single out the one race that may have earned Vickers his Chase spot, you need not look any further than the first race of the season: The Daytona 500. Now, I know what you’re [...]

Feel free to chime in with your own comments whenever you please: Are you satisfied with the winner? Did your favorite driver make the Chase? Will Denny Hamlin’s hometown win propel him to a title? Will Brian Vickers’ final run into the Chase propel him to a championship? Kasey Kahne and Juan Pablo Montoya have been rock-solid as of late. Can one of them get it [...]

RPM Pulls a Fast One, Absorbs Yates, Switches to Ford
Richard Petty Motorsports is switching manufactures. Yes, it’s true. Yes, it’s official. When it has come to manufacturers, RPM has been rumored to do just about anything. From staying with Dodge, to switching to Toyota, and even to switch to Chevrolet and use Hendrick engines. Never once was Ford even mentioned. That is, until today. This afternoon, RPM pulled a fast one(pun intended) on everybody in and outside of the NASCAR world when the team announced it would be switching to Ford and, more surprisingly, absorbing a struggling Yates Racing team. There are several things that have not been ironed out [...]
