The “Day After” Discussion: Kansas

Posted by: Ben Montedonico

Hey, I bet you’ll never guess who came to my house for lunch yesterday! Give up yet? Okay, here we go. Jeff Burton!

I know what you’re thinking: “Jeff Burton was racing in Kansas yesterday.” Yes, he was. So how could Jeff Burton have eaten lunch at my house yesterday if he was racing?

It wasn’t the race car driver. There’s more than one Jeff Burton on this planet, silly. But I had you going there for a moment, didn’t I?

Alright, a lot to discuss once again here on this, the longest day of the week. So let’s get started:

With Tony Stewart’s win on Sunday, is he back in the championship hunt?

What about Jeff Gordon after his runner-up finish?

As crazy as it sounds, is Juan Pablo Montoya the driver to beat for the title after another top 5 finish?

Are Brian Vickers’ title hopes done?

How many drivers are really still in the running for the championship?

If you could have lunch with any race car driver, who would it be?

And for you conspiracy theorists:

Was that late mystery debris caution thrown just to give Jimmie Johnson a chance to pit with everybody else?

Feel free to discuss these, or any other topics of interest, on the comment wall below.
