Danica Patrick had better hurry up and make a decision about her racing future, before one of her Indycar counterparts beats her to it.
Vitor Meira, best known for his wild ride in the 2009 Indianapolis 500(seen by clicking on the link below), along with Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet, will be testing Camping World trucks on Monday for Red Horse Racing in Rockingham.
Meira, who was involved in the horrific accident with Rafael Matos, is in the car riding up against the wall on its side, by the way.
Meira, 32, has raced 4 seasons in the Indy Racing League along side Patrick, with a best points finish of 5th driving for Panther Racing.
In 97 IRL starts, Meira has 2 poles, and a career best finish of 2nd, where he has finished 3 times, including in the 2008 Indianapolis 500. Unlike Patrick, Meira is relatively quiet and is not known for throwing temper tantrums and getting into fights on pit road.
If all goes well in Monday’s test, Meira could be the next IRL-to-NASCAR convert. It looks like he wants to go up through the NASCAR ranks the right way. Hopefully it goes well for Vitor, and we wish him the very best.

I wonder why more NASCAR drivers don’t try to get in the cockpit of an Indy car and take it over 200 mph. Sure NASCAR is a very popular domestic racing series and the drivers get paid more, but I would think all real racers would like to try out different forms of racing.
