Montoya Unhappy With NASCAR After Race

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Tony Stewart Ryan Newman Brian Vickers Kasey Kahne Add Juan Pablo Montoya to the list of drivers who have openly expressed their frustration with NASCAR. After a rough night on Saturday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Montoya, in an interview with ESPN, claimed that, “you could see that their was stuff all over the track,” during the race. But Montoya believed that NASCAR did not throw the caution because, “they were criticized last week for throwing the caution,” and thought that they, “took it a bit over the top,” Saturday night. Montoya added, “It is what it is. NASCAR is in [...]

NASCAR.com: “Jimmie Johnson or The Field?”

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

How confident is NASCAR.com that Jimmie Johnson is going to win tonight’s NASCAR Banking 500 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway? They are so confident that they currently have a poll up on their website that asks this question: Who is your pick to win Saturday’s Cup race in Charlotte? – Jimmie Johnson – The Field This comes after calling J.J. “Superman” after Dover, and “Automatic” after Auto Club. The comparison to God is likely just around the corner. Hopefully they don’t take it that far. But if they do, you’ll be hearing about it here.

Petty, Earnhardt, Johnson, and France Duo Are NASCAR Hall of Fame’s First Inductees

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

There you have it. Right there in the title. NASCAR announced its first Hall of Fame inductees today at 4:00 EDT. It was televised on ESPNEWS. Were you there? In case you weren’t, Stock Car Spin has you covered. The inductees are: Richard Petty Dale Earnhardt “Big” Bill France Bill France Jr. Junior Johnson I was a little surprised that both members of the France family were inducted. But both of them were instrumental in creating NASCAR and bringing the sport into the national spotlight. I was glad Junior Johnson made it in, as I was afraid perhaps his accomplishments as [...]

NASCAR’s First Hall of Fame Inductees to be Announced at 4:00 EDT

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

NASCAR’s first Hall of Fame inductees will be announced this afternoon at 4:00 EDT. The event will be televised on ESPNEWS. Who will be inducted? My guess is that Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, and “Big” Bill France are locks. The other two spots will be a crap shoot. But if I was a betting man, I would say Junior Johnson and Cale Yarborough will get the spots. Though Bobby Allison would be a good pick, too. Who do you think will get in? Find out at 4:00 EDT on ESPNEWS, or check back with Stock Car Spin later this evening!

Colin Braun: The Envy of Teenage Boys Everywhere

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

Colin Braun has the coolest job in the world. And today, it got even cooler. Braun is a development driver for Roush-Fenway Racing, which is the largest race team in NASCAR with 9 cars spread across all 3 of NASCAR’s top divisions. That means Braun will likely, one day, be a millionaire. But as if that isn’t enough, he gets to drive a Ford Mustang. As part of his job description. This photo was taken today at the team’s headquarters at an announcement by Roush-Fenway Racing that Colin Braun will be driving the #16 Conway Freight Ford full-time in the NASCAR [...]

Kasey Kahne Feels Victimized After Pepsi 500; Can You Blame Him?

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

Kasey Kahne feels victimized after another great run went awry Sunday at Auto Club Speedway. Can you blame him? Kahne ran in the top 10 during Sunday’s Pepsi 500 for most of the day. That is, until NASCAR decided to “make the race interesting for the fans”. Those were Kahne’s words after he got out of the #9 Budweiser Dodge following his second accident in the final 11 laps of the race. Let me set the stage for Kasey’s post-wreck comments. Kahne had been running in the top 10 until a debris caution came out with 16 laps to go. That [...]
