Kyle Busch Wins Nationwide Championship

Posted by: Ben Montedonico

After 5 years of trying, Kyle Busch won his first championship in one of NASCAR’s premier divisions. Busch merely needed to start Saturday’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway to clinch the NASCAR Nationwide Series title.

But that wasn’t enough for Busch, who held of a Kansas-like charge from his Nationwide Series rival, Carl Edwards, to win the Ford 300 as well. Busch became the first NASCAR Nationwide Series champion to win the season finale since 1983, when Sam Ard(who else) accomplished the same feat.

Congratulations to Kyle Busch on his first championship of what is likely to be many!

Note: Denny Hamlin did get his revenge on Brad Keselowski during the race, but it was a very hollow revenge. Hamlin merely sent Keselowski for a lazy spin down the frontstretch. In fact, Hamlin got the worse end of it as he was penalized 1 lap for rough driving. Hamlin finished 4th, while Keselowski finished 12th.
