Yes and no. As you can see, all but 4 of the races(5, if you include Daytona) take [...]
For anyone hoping that 2010 would be the year that Jimmie Johnson and Hendrick Motorsports got knocked off their pretty little NASCAR pedestal, the news of Denny Hamlin’s ACL tear was like nails on a chalkboard.
Nobody wanted to hear it.
Hamlin, the 5th-year driver out of Joe Gibbs Racing, has been the consensus #1 pick to end Johnson’s reign atop the NASCAR world. He ended the 2009 season with a win at Homestead, and all-in-all outperformed the Hendrick teams during the Chase, with some misfortunes keeping him from winning the title.
But when the news of his ACL tear broke, many feared that [...]
If you’ve watched the NFL on Fox this football season, you’ve seen this lovable robot do plenty of silly things.
From his touchdown celebrations, to showing off his karate moves, and even throwing up during a post-New Years hangover, Cleatus has done it all.
But during Sunday’s NFC Championship game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints, Cleatus showed us that, even though his job as the NFL on Fox Robot may be done until September, he’s still very excited about the upcoming NASCAR season.
Cleatus can’t talk, but actions often speak louder than words. And on several occasions, Cleatus, brain-brother of [...]
If you will recall, about a week or so ago, I ran an article on this site asking the question, who in the world was going to get to drive this “Powder-Blue Beauty”?
Fans, we have ourselves a winner.
Casey Mears, who drove the Jack Daniels #07 for RCR a year ago, has teamed up with the new Keyed-Up Motorsports and crew chief Doug Richart, and will drive the #90 Chevrolet for the full 2010 season.
Mears was thrilled about the opportunity to drive the car:
“I’m really excited about this opportunity to drive the Keyed-Up Motorsports No. 90 Chevy. I’m looking forward to [...]

The Fans Win!
The war between NASCAR’s higher-ups and the fans is over. The powers-that-be have given in, and we have won.
For 6 years, NASCAR tightened the reigns on its drivers. The results were bad racing at best, and corporate parades at worst, and the fans were losing.
But on Thursday, NASCAR CEO Brian France gave these words:
“Over the past 10 years we’ve dramatically increased safety and that mission continues. However, it’s time for us to allow the drivers to drive. We don’t want the rules and regulations to get in the way of great racing and fantastic finishes. NASCAR is a contact sport [...]
Add two more names to the list of returning teams for the 2010 season.
Prism Motorsports, which was a start-and-park team last year, will return with Dave Blaney once again driving the #66 Toyota Camry. The team plans to run the entire Daytona 500, assuming they qualify for the race, but the rest of the season will depend on sponsorship.
Gunselman Motorsports is also returning. Another start-and-park team, Gunselman Motorsports ran the full 2009 season with several different drivers, including Todd and Geoff Bodine. There is no word on who will drive the #64 in 2010, but the team is switching manufacturers, [...]
People say stupid things. Face it, everyone has said something they wish they could take back at some point in their lives. I’ve done it. You’ve done it. Everybody’s done it.
My favorite stupid sayings are the ones that are so obvious that the words might as well be slapping you in the face. Often times, these quotes are remembered, or even honored.
If there was such an award as the NASCAR “Quote of the Year”, a said-type of quote given by none other than NASCAR.com writer Joe Menzer would certainly be nominated in 2010, if not take the cake altogether.
This quote [...]
