Hot or Not: Las Vegas

AUTHOR: Ben Montedonico | IN: Hot or Not, NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

Viva Las Vegas! The boys of NASCAR made another trip out west, this time to Sin City. So who cashed in big, and who was a bust? We’ve got you covered!
Hot: Hendrick Motorsports. J.J. won again, while Gordon came in second and Mark “The Kid” Martin finished fourth. Even Junior had a relatively good showing, ending the day in 16th. And the green grass grows all around, all around…
Not: Kurt Busch. The hometown boy started the weekend off by claiming the Pole award. Unfortunately, when you’re at the top, there’s only one place to go: Down. Kurt did just that, as [...]

How did Kim Kardashian get on a Race Car?

AUTHOR: Ben Montedonico | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Do not adjust your computer screen. Yes, that is Kim Kardashian. And yes, she is on Mike Bliss’ #36 race car.
Bliss will drive the Tommy Baldwin-owned car this Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, assuming he qualifies for the race.
You may be as mind-boggled about this as I am, wondering how in the world Kardashian, of all people, got her mug on a NASCAR race car.
According to Kardashian’s website, she, along with Sephora fragrances, is running a contest. If you wish to lose all your dignity to see what it is about, click here.
If you’re like me, you may also be wondering [...]

Fans: Johnson’s Dominance is Bad for NASCAR

AUTHOR: Ben Montedonico | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 45 Comments

There is no middle ground when it comes to Jimmie Johnson. Either you love him, or you hate him.
Fans on both sides of the argument have made strong cases as to whether or not they like what Johnson has accomplished over the last 4 years. Some believe he should be celebrated, while others believe he has cheated his way to the top.
Today, however, fans were asked to answer this question: Is Jimmie Johnson’s dominance bad for the sport?
Out of the 2,000 fans that have voted on the poll so far, 69% agree that Johnson’s dominance is bad for the sport, [...]

Hendrick’s super-speedway woes no hinderance to Johnson

AUTHOR: Alex Carver | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

The state of Florida has a love/hate relationship with Jimmie Johnson.
For the past three years, south in Homestead, Johnson has been presented with the NASCAR Sprint Cup after finishes of 5th and 15th, the former of which is just one spot away from his career average finish in the Ford 400. However, four hours up the I-95 in Daytona Beach, the story is completely different. Last week, while running 5th, like something out of a GEICO commercial, Johnson hit a pothole, blew a right rear tire and damaged a rear axle. He was forced to retire with 23 to go. [...]

Hot or Not: Auto Club 500

AUTHOR: Ben Montedonico | IN: Hot or Not, NASCAR | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

The boys of NASCAR made their first West coast trip of the decade this week, and just barely out-drove Mother Nature on Sunday. So who shined like the So Cal sun, and who had their dreams of winning rained upon? We’ve got you covered!
Hot: Jimmie Johnson. Is it better to be lucky, or good? Jimmie Johnson wonders if it’s too much to ask for both at home.
Not: Dale Earnhardt Jr. I made the mistake last week of believing that Johnson had inherited Earnhardt’s 2009 equipment. Clearly, that still belongs to Junior.
Hot: Richard Childress Racing. They haven’t won yet, but after [...]
