At Very Least, NASCAR Fans Deserve a Cookie
It’s not even debatable. 2010 has been, by far, one of the best seasons of NASCAR in its 62-year history. After 9 races, we’ve seen records shattered~like the 88 lead changes we saw last week in Talladega~, new rivalries~such as Carl Edwards v. Brad Keselowski, and Jeff Gordon v. Jimmie Johnson~ with real results, spectacular crashes~see: Keselowski, Brad, Atlanta Motor Speedway 3-7-2010~, and all-around incredible racing! For the first time since the CoT platform was introduced to NASCAR, we seriously don’t know who is going to win week after week. With the “have at it, boys” mentality NASCAR has reverted [...]
Poll: Heath Calhoun 400 or Kentucky Derby?
Welcome NASCAR and Horse racing fans alike! As you all know, we have two very exciting races coming up this Saturday. Each takes place at a venue that has been a staple of its respective sport for a long time. Each consists of several hungry competitors, looking for that elusive win. That’s where the similarities end. So race fans, my question to you is: Which race are you most looking forward to seeing? Heath Calhoun 400: This race takes place in Richmond, Virginia. It is a 400-lap race at a 3/4-mile track, featuring 43 cars likely to reach speeds of 140 [...]

Official: Jeff Gordon is a Man
A hot debate over the last 15 years has now, as of Sunday, officially been resolved. It has been wondered over the years whether or not Jeff Gordon was light on his loafers, a girl, or both. But I think it’s pretty clear now. Jeff Gordon is a man. His rivalry with his teammate and the driver at the top of the NASCAR pedestal, Jimmie Johnson, carried over from Texas and into Talladega. In a moment, I will bring you up-to-date as to what has happened between the two so far. But first, we must get the story set up. Johnson has [...]
Hot or Not: Talladega
The boys of NASCAR raced on a Sunday for the first time in 35 days, and what a race it was in Talladega! So who survived the carnage, and who got swept up in the storm? We’ve got you covered! Hot: Kevin Harvick. What is it about Happy and photo finishes? His first career win, his first Daytona 500 win, and his first win in over 100 races have all been decided by a combined total of less than 0.1 seconds. Whatever works, right Kevin? Not: Jimmie Johnson. “4-time” crashed during the second green-white-checkered attempt. The icing on the cake: [...]
Aaron’s 499 LIVE Timing and Scoring
Hee hee hee. I’m so giddy today, and you probably know why. The boys of NASCAR are at my favorite track on the circuit today: Talladega Superspeedway! Hopefully you’ll be able to watch the race today. But if, for whatever reason, you are unable to see the action on the track live(and bless you if you can’t), we’ve got you covered with live timing and scoring of the Aaron’s 499, courtesy of Foxsports.com. “Cute Little Birdie” Attacks Talladega Superspeedway
Bike beats human. Car beats bike. Bird beats cars? Friday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Happy Hour practice for the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega was red-flagged for just over 5 minutes for what was reported to be “debris in turn 1.” The debris was a “cute little birdie” that found his way onto the 2.66-mile racing surface, sitting at the top of the embankment in Talladega’s first turn. The bird evaded NASCAR officials for roughly a minute. He hopped away from one, then tumbled down the embankment to the clean-up truck, where he was taken safely out of harm’s way by another official. [...]
Allgaier to Cup in 2011? It Could Happen
When it comes to the future of NASCAR Nationwide Series star Justin Allgaier, both the driver of the #12 Verizon Wireless Dodge and team owner Roger Penske have remained hush-hush. While it looks like Allgaier is committed to Penske, both parties have said that they have no immediate plans to move the 23-year old up into the Sprint Cup Series. Whether the “immediate plans” include the 2011 season remains to be seen. However, if you have a pool going on amongst friends or in the workplace, bet on Allgaier moving up to Cup in 2011. With Tuesday’s announcement that Shell/Pennzoil [...]
Hendrick Boys Johnson, Earnhardt Jr Don’t Like Racing
NASCAR fans were fortunate enough to see a wild race on Monday at Texas Motor Speedway. The bad news is, for two of NASCAR’s most popular drivers, that wild race involved some “racing”. In their post-race interviews, Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. had negative reactions towards the racing in the event. Johnson complained of how another teammate of his, Jeff Gordon, was racing him, while Earnhardt complained of the way the end of the race went down. Johnson claimed he was “disappointed” in the way Gordon raced him, when Gordon never pulled anything dirty. He simply [...]
Hot or Not: Texas
It’s true what they say: Everything is bigger in Texas; even the crashes! So after our second Monday race in three weeks, who tore up the track like a Texas twister, and who was sought out by trouble? We’ve got you covered! Hot: Denny Hamlin. Just 19 days after knee surgery, Hammy found Victory Lane in Texas. You think he’s going to petition to Mike Helton and Brian France to have all NASCAR events run on Mondays? Not: Jeff Gordon. By far the class of the field in Texas, Gordon was caught up in a late-race accident that crippled his Special [...]
