NASCAR fans were fortunate enough to see a wild race on Monday at Texas Motor Speedway.
The bad news is, for two of NASCAR’s most popular drivers, that wild race involved some “racing”.
In their post-race interviews, Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. had negative reactions towards the racing in the event. Johnson complained of how another teammate of his, Jeff Gordon, was racing him, while Earnhardt complained of the way the end of the race went down.
Johnson claimed he was “disappointed” in the way Gordon raced him, when Gordon never pulled anything dirty. He simply raced Johnson. Earnhardt started to say in his interview that he had fun until everybody started racing [at the end], but thought better of it and stopped before he could finish the word “racing”.
In the video below, you can hear out Johnson’s complaint at about the 0:30 mark, and Earnhardt’s at roughly the 2:00 mark.
Boys, I have just one thing to say: If you can’t take the racing, get off the race track.
