Vickers May Run All-Star Event
After being released from a Washington D.C.-area hospital last Friday afternoon, Brian Vickers is recovering well from his blood clots, Team Red Bull says. Vickers missed last Sunday’s race at Dover, but is on the entry list for Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star race. Vickers is locked into the race thanks to his win last August at Michigan, assuming he is given clearance to race. There is no official word yet on whether or not Vickers will race Saturday night, but it’s looking like a very good possibility. We’ll keep you updated, and continue to wish Brian the very best.
Hot or Not: Dover
On Sunday, the Monster Mile was seen in all it’s glory for the first time in 2010. So who tamed the Delaware track, and who’s hoping for better luck on the return trip? We’ve got you covered! Hot: Joe Gibbs Racing. Gibbs cars have now won 5 of the 7 races since NASCAR implemented the new rear spoiler. And on Sunday, the team posted it’s best result of the season, placing all 3 of its cars in the top 10. You want to talk about a monster? This team is scary! Not: Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing. Jamie McMurray and Juan Pablo Montoya [...]
Autism Speaks 400 LIVE Timing and Scoring

If there’s such a thing as fairness, Clint Bowyer will be suspended for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Dover. Bowyer and Denny Hamlin got together in a late-race accident that ended with Bowyer’s car and several others torn to pieces. Bowyer retaliated under caution, as you will see below: Why should Bowyer be suspended for Sunday’s Cup race? Because Robby Gordon got the same penalty for doing this three years ago after he was spun by Marcos Ambrose: So what’s the difference between Bowyer’s actions and Gordon’s actions? In my opinion, not enough for them to receive two different [...]
Jimmie Johnson Could Finally Earn “Superman” Moniker
Last year, Mark Martin called his teammate, Jimmie Johnson, “Superman”. Johnson has won the last four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championships, and unfortunately, Johnson has no other nicknames. So the annoyingly unoriginal, cheesy “Superman” moniker stuck. Whether or not Johnson is a Superman-type driver is heavily debated. While Johnson has won the last four championships, popular belief among fans(those known as “48 Haters”) is that Johnson didn’t really earn those championships, but rather had some help from the powers-that-be. If that’s the case, the “Superman” moniker would be null and void. But next year, Johnson may have a chance to truly [...]
Jeremy Mayfield Goes For NASCAR’s Jugular
…And the Jeremy Mayfield case just got much more interesting. You all know the story by now. Just over a year ago, NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield was suspended by NASCAR for testing positive for methamphetamines. Mayfield appealed the ruling, stating that he was a victim of a false positive. After that, the case became one big mess. For awhile, the Mayfield v. NASCAR case took a brief hiatus. But things just got a lot more interesting. It was announced Thursday that Mayfield’s legal team has sent out subpoenas to Hendrick Motorsports drivers Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. The two drivers will [...]
Brian Vickers, driver of the #83 Red Bull Toyota, will miss Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Dover. The 26-year old was hospitalized today for an “undisclosed medical condition”. Team Red Bull manager Jay Frye called Vickers’ illness “a minor setback”, so it sounds like Vickers may be back in the car for the All Star race next weekend. Casey Mears will take over the #83 this weekend. Vickers sits 20th in points, 160 points out of 12th. By missing a race, it will be nearly impossible for Vickers to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup for a second [...]

Denny Hamlin and his #11 Joe Gibbs Racing team have won three of the six races since NASCAR brought back the rear spoiler and did away with the wing on the back of the race car. During that time, Hamlin has jumped 13 spots in the standings, from 19th to 6th. Hamlin has finished in the top 5 in four of those races, and has only finished outside the top 12 once during those six races; at Phoenix, where he was involved in an accident early on. Hamlin’s performance as of late, which has come on the heels of his [...]
Hot or Not: Darlington
Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! Hope you had an awesome day, and I hope you enjoyed this weekend’s action at Darlington! This Hot or Not is for you, so sit back, relax, and enjoy! Hot: Joe Gibbs Racing. Denny Hamlin said it best: “All we do is win!” Joe Gibbs Racing has won 4 out of the 6 races run with the new spoiler, while Hendrick Motorsports hasn’t won any. Is it time for Gibbs to usurp the title of NASCAR’s best team from Hendrick? Not: Jimmie Johnson. He’s crashed out of and failed to finish two [...]
