Crew Members Should Be Able To Defend Themselves
Another week, another victim in the NASCAR Drug Wars. This week it’s Chris Moore, crew member for AJ Allmendinger’s #43 Best Buy/Insignia Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Moore allegedly failed a drug test on June 22nd, and has been suspended indefinitely for “actions detrimental to stock car racing”, and for “violating NASCAR’s substance abuse policy”. That’s all we know, and that’s all we’ll ever know. Moore’s failed test isn’t a big story, and neither were the failed tests of the several other crew members who have been suspended under the policy. Thus, there is no need for [...]
A Letter To Kurt Busch
Dear Kurt Busch, As a NASCAR fan, I appreciate that you moved Jimmie Johnson out of the way in an attempt to win Sunday’s race at Loudon. Your move showed that some drivers still have the kahunas to move the untouchables out of the way, and I admire that. As much as I admired your move, however, I felt that your efforts to win the race were, overall, weak. You see, Jimmie Johnson is a four-time champion, and thus is pretty good. I know that because I have had that fact thrown at me so many times that it hurts to [...]
Hot or Not: Loudon
The boys of NASCAR were in New Hampshire for Sunday’s 301-lap event. Who found magic in the Magic Mile and who wasn’t so lucky? We’ve got you covered! Hot: Jimmie Johnson. Have to give a shout-out to J.J. He had the best car in the field…once Montoya, Kahne, Burton, and Kyle Busch were taken out, that is. Not: Kasey Kahne. Just when things were looking up for Kasey and the No. 9 team, an engine goes kaput in a critical race at New Hampshire. Seems like we’ve seen this movie before, haven’t we? Hot: Tony Stewart. I don’t know how [...]

Good morning/afternoon race fans! We’ve got another fine race to watch today, as the boys of NASCAR take on the Magic Mile in Loudon, New Hampshire. Gillette: Busch, Newman Introduce “Mullet Nation”
Check out this funny bit featuring Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman, brought to you by Gillette: Pretty funny stuff. But I can honestly say I had no idea Ryan liked to get manicures. I wonder if Scott Speed knows… As for Kyle, I would love to see him sporting that look while wearing the infamous “pink suit”. Wouldn’t that be a delight? I did notice one thing though: As bad as everyone’s hair looked, their faces were squeaky clean(except for that old Asian guy, but old men don’t shave anyway). Even Busch didn’t throw a tantrum when told to shave. [...]
What Was Randy LaJoie Thinking?
Meet NASCAR’s version of Percy Harvin. It was announced the other day that former NASCAR driver and current(for now) ESPN NASCAR analyst, 48-year old Randy LaJoie, tested positive for marijuana after he took a drug test following the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte. ESPN has since suspended LaJoie, but when you hear the circumstances under which he failed the drug test, you’ll wonder what the heck this guy was thinking. LaJoie wanted to spot for Joe Gibbs Racing driver Brad Coleman at Nashville the week after the 600. To do that, he needed a spotters’ license, which involved taking a drug [...]
Vuvuzelas Banned At New Hampshire Motor Speedway
The vuvuzela is a South African horn which has been heard throughout the World Cup. If your going to the race this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, don’t bring one. NHMS president Jerry Gappens announced this week that the track is banning fans from bringing in the beloved horns, as they are painful to the ears. Unlike race car engines, which are completely silent. Here’s what Gappens had to say in his statement: “We love our fans and want everyone to have a great time here during their visit, but I think it is best to leave the vuvuzelas [...]
Time For NASCAR To Publish Its Rules?
Just when we thought NASCAR was free-and-clear of controversy, Sunday’s race at Sonoma happened. Once again, NASCAR’s hypothetical “rule book” is under attack, and one can’t help but wonder if it’s time for the sport to finally publish its rules for all the fans to see. So fans, I ask you today, is it time for NASCAR to publish it’s rules? I’ll give you the two sides, and you can voice your opinion by commenting or voting on the poll below. Yes. Other sports allow fans to see the rules, so NASCAR should do the same. It would really help [...]
Was Marcos Ambrose’s Penalty Wrong?
Here we go again. Jimmie Johnson returns to Victory Lane, and suddenly NASCAR’s rule book comes under attack. This isn’t the first time it’s happened, and probably won’t be the last. It may not seem fair. But due to past instances, I have to raise this question: Was the penalty that NASCAR handed out to Marcos Ambrose on Sunday at Infineon Raceway wrong? For those of you who don’t know what happened, let me bring you up to speed. Ambrose was leading with 5 laps to go on Sunday at Sonoma when a caution came out. When he shut down [...]
Hot or Not: Infineon
The boys of NASCAR made a right turn to the annual road course race at Infineon. Who celebrated and who needed a little cheese with their whine? We’ve got you covered! Hot: Jimmie Johnson. The father-to-be earned his first road course win in NASCAR. Ironic it happened on Father’s Day, seeing as it looked more like a gift than anything else. Not: Marcos Ambrose. The man who gave J.J. his present had his first career win in the bag, until a mysterious voice told him to turn his engine off under caution. Don’t listen to voices, Marcos. They’re very bad. Hot: Robby [...]
