Denny Hamlin Talks About His “Disparaging Remarks”…With More Disparaging Remarks

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

You’ve gotta love Denny Hamlin. He tells it like it is. Hamlin was recently announced as one of two drivers fined for making “disparaging remarks” about NASCAR. According to sources, Hamlin was fined on two separate occasions; one coming after the Michigan race, and the other coming after Chicagoland. Hamlin was fined for making comments about phantom debris cautions, as well as potential changes to the Chase. Now, put yourself in Hamlin’s shoes. You’ve been fined twice this season for speaking your mind, so what do you do next? Do you shake it off and publicly make amends with NASCAR? [...]

Stock Car Spin Waits On Fine From NASCAR

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

The following is not true; just a fun play off of this past week’s events involving NASCAR fining drivers for “disparaging remarks” about the sport. Semi-popular NASCAR blog, Stock Car Spin, is reportedly waiting to see how much it is going to be fined by NASCAR for making “disparaging remarks” about the sport. Stock Car Spin’s Lead Blogger, Ben Montedonico, has made negative remarks about NASCAR on several occasions this year; the most recent being after this past weekend’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Ben could only be reached for this comment: “Of course I made disparaging comments about NASCAR; [...]

Bobby Labonte Just Became A 2011 Chase Contender

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Bobby Labonte will be in good equipment again in 2011. It was announced yesterday that the 2000 NASCAR Cup champion will be headed to JTG Daugherty Racing to take over the #47 Toyota next season. Labonte will take over the ride vacated by Marcos Ambrose. And with that, Bobby Labonte just became a 2011 Chase contender. If anybody doubts that Labonte can still drive, think again. It has been 5 years since Labonte was in relatively competitive equipment; back when he drove for Joe Gibbs Racing, in a car that would struggle for the next few years. And even still, [...]

NASCAR Prayers: Pray For Jack Roush And The Wimmers

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

NASCAR fans, I know most of us our very strong in our faith in God, so I have a few prayer intentions for you all. First, Jack Roush was involved in a plane crash last night. His jet made hard contact on landing, and he suffered some facial injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition. His injuries are not life-threatening, but we pray for a speedy recovery for Mr. Roush. Second, Ron and Joan Wimmer, whose son Scott is a NASCAR driver, had their Wisconsin home burn down yesterday. The garage is [...]

Marcos Ambrose To Replace Kasey Kahne?

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Richard Petty Motorsports may have a #9 car in 2011 after all. News broke today that Marcos Ambrose is leaving JTG Daugherty Racing at the end of the 2010 season, parting ways with the team that brought him into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Ambrose drove for JTG Daugherty for 5 years, competing in all three of NASCAR’s top divisions with the team. But after a rough 2010 campaign, the time has come for Ambrose to start a new chapter in his young career. And if indications are correct, Ambrose will be headed to the #9 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford [...]

Was Juan Pablo Montoya Messed Over Again?

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

Another year, another Brickyard 400 heartbreak for Juan Pablo Montoya. Last year, Montoya pinned his loss on NASCAR over what he believed was a false speeding penalty. But he may be more accurate in blaming this year’s loss on NASCAR than last year’s. Montoya had the dominant car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway once again, leading a race-high 86 laps from the Pole position. But a caution with 30 laps to go turned his race upside-down. Montoya held a 3.5 second lead when the caution came out for “debris”. When shown on television, the debris appeared to be either a [...]

Hot or Not: Indianapolis

AUTHOR: | IN: Hot or Not, NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

The boys of NASCAR were at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend to take part in the Brickyard 400. Who kissed the bricks and who hit a wall? We’ve got you covered! Hot: Jamie McMurray. He might not make the Chase, but he knows how to win the big ones. J-Mac followed up his emotional Daytona 500 victory with another win he’ll remember forever; this one coming at Indy. Congrats Jamie! Not: Juan Pablo Montoya. Tony Kanaan has the Indy 500, Marcos Ambrose has Montreal, Juan Pablo Montoya has the Brickyard 400. Another dominating performance; another heartbreak for Juan. His [...]

My Idea For A NASCAR Points System

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

In case you hadn’t noticed, NASCAR is looking for new ways to spice up the championship chase. Several new and evolutionary ideas are being thrown around; most notable of those is an elimination-style system, which you can read about here. Most of these ideas are complex and hard to follow. But as you well know, the majority of NASCAR fans like to go along with the “kiss”(keep it simple, stupid) state of mind. That’s why I’m here to introduce my own evolutionary system; only my version simplifies things quite a bit. But before I can tell you what it is, [...]

Brad Keselowski’s Still Whining

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Even on his Twitter page, Brad Keselowski continues to play victim. In his most recent tweet, which came after NASCAR announced the penalties levied to his rival, Carl Edwards, Keselowski claims he just want to get back to “normal racing”, and that this is too big of a weekend for “distractions”. “Blown away by the support. Very cool. I appreciate it. Maybe we can get back 2 normal racing now. This is 2 big a weekend for distractions.” Yes, Brad. Perhaps you can. If you promise not to lay a fender on anybody, yourself. Comprende?
