Denny Hamlin Called LeBron James’ Move To Miami

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

Call him Nostradamus. On Wednesday, July 7 at 12:44 P.M. Eastern time, a full 32 hours before LeBron James’ big announcement, Denny Hamlin called his shot via his Twitter page: “Lebron to miami..” One minute later, he followed that up with: “U heard it here first..” Three hours before James’ announcement, Hamlin called it again: “so does everyone still think im crazy about lebron? haha i think not.. just remember who really broke this story” At 9:00 P.M. Thursday night, James announced that he was going to the Miami Heat. By that time, Denny Hamlin had called his shot three times. This [...]

Jimmie Johnson Becomes A Father; Baby’s Name Unknown

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

4-time defending NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson is now a dad. According to reports from the Associated Press, the Johnson family has a new baby girl. Both Johnson’s wife, Chandra, and the baby are doing fine. The report says: Jimmie Johnson is a father, and it won’t interfere with his racing schedule. Johnson’s wife, Chandra, gave birth to a daughter Wednesday. A Johnson spokesperson said mother and baby are doing well, and no other details will be released. It is the reigning four-time champion’s first child. The lack of said “other details” likely means that we don’t even get to know [...]

Crew Chief Change Won’t Help Sadler

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

A change has been made atop the #19 pit box. Todd Parrot is now calling the shots for Elliott Sadler, starting this week at Chicagoland. Parrot and Sadler worked together in 2004 en route to Sadler’s only Chase for the Cup appearance. Unfortunately, I don’t believe the change atop the pit box will help the #19 team. Parrot was relieved of his crew chief duties on Matt Kenseth’s #17 team less than a month ago. He was put with Kenseth in February to give the team a bit of a “spark”, and at first it worked. But as time passed, [...]

10 Reasons Why Atlanta Motor Speedway Should Have 2 Races

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: None Yet

Another year, another laundry list of possible NASCAR schedule changes. Once again, the beloved Atlanta Motor Speedway is on the chopping block, and there’s a good possibility that AMS may be forced to surrender a race to either Kentucky Speedway or Las Vegas Motor Speedway. However, I believe AMS should be able to retain its two races, and here’s why: 1. AMS has history. Lots of it. 2. Do we really want to take another race from the South? 3. Angry mobs of rednecks would go on a killing spree. Probably. 4. Somebody besides Jimmie Johnson wins there. 5. The racing [...]

Steve Park Can Still Get It Done

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Steve Park hadn’t climbed behind the wheel of a Sprint Cup car since 2003. Back then, NASCAR’s premier division was named “Winston”. There was no Chase. George W. Bush was still serving his first term as President. Gas was still being sold at a reasonable price. Baseball’s steroid era was little more than a thought. Fast-forward to 2010, where there is now a Chase for the Sprint Cup, America is an Obama-nation, gas is more expensive than a Tiffany’s chandelier, and steroids rule baseball. And Steve Park is driving again. Park, whose career was marred by horrifying accidents, climbed behind [...]

Happy 4th of July! The boys of NASCAR took to the old Daytona pavement one last time for the annual summer classic. Who avoided the fireworks and who got to be part of the fireworks? We’ve got you covered! Hot: Kevin Harvick. Here’s a stat for you: With Harvick’s win at Daytona, he has 13 top 10 finishes in 18 races. Now, when can we get rid of the cheesy “Mr. ‘Where did he come from?’” moniker? He’s been on top all year! Not: Kyle Busch. Another Coke Zero 400, another summer classic ending with Kyle head-on in the wall [...]

Dale Earnhardt Jr: An “E” True NASCAR Story

AUTHOR: | IN: NASCAR | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

It was a script only NASCAR could write. Months of hype went into Friday night’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona. Not just because it was the first race with the new Nationwide CoT, but because it would be the first, and last time that Dale Earnhardt Jr. climbed behind the wheel of his late father’s famous #3 car. The stage was set. Nothing more than a win would satisfy the hungry fans of, not just Junior Nation, but Earnhardt Nation. The son of the now-Hall of Famer would have one chance to renew his father’s legacy. One chance to take [...]
