Carl Edwards may be starting at the bottom of the Chase barrel, but that won’t stop him from winning the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.
At least, that’s my prediction.
You may remember that my pick last year, Brian Vickers, didn’t fair so well. But Edwards will be different. Why?
Because his team is prepared.
In case you weren’t watching, following his runner-up finish in Atlanta, Edwards stated that, while his team doesn’t appear to be in 2008 form, they are more prepared for a title run than they’ve ever been. And it’s showed. Over the last 10 races, Edwards has finished outside the top 10 once; a 12th-place outing at Bristol.
Unlike the rest of his competition, Edwards hasn’t shot himself in the foot. And while some may think that means he’s due, I simply think his mentality towards racing has changed, and it will continue to help him be the model of consistency that he’s been lately come Chase time.
That’s why Carl Edwards will win the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship.
