David Ragan Breaks A World Record At Bristol

Georgia boy/NASCAR driver David Ragan broke a world record at Bristol on Saturday.

Ragan set the world record for fastest lap around a 1/2-mile race track for a passenger car with a time of 19.481 seconds, driving a 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0. Ragan’s speed around Bristol Motor Speedway was 98.497 mph.

Ragan’s NASCAR career to this point has not gone according to plan, as he has no wins to date in his 4-year career. But setting a world record has to take some of the sting away.

Perhaps it’s even the shot in the arm he needs to get his career back on track.
