Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne is out for yet another week, which opens the door for another young Roush-Fenway Racing talent. Fresh off his first career NASCAR Nationwide Series victory last Sunday at Iowa, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is set to make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut in the Wood Brothers’ #21 Ford this Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Stenhouse is not locked into the race and will have to qualify on time, but judging by his past performance, that will be an easy task for the man who sits third in the Nationwide Series points standings. Bayne, meanwhile, is [...]
SCS NASCAR Power Rankings: Dover
Hey, race fans! I apologize for the delay in Power Rankings this week. Check out who’s on fire after Dover, and who dropped out! New this week are Martin Truex Jr., Marcos Ambrose, and Brad Keselowski. They replace David Ragan, Regan Smith, and Paul Menard. 1. Carl Edwards(Last Week: 1[+/-0]): Carl was one of two drivers who dominated at Dover but got burned late by pit strategy. This team is still unarguably the best in NASCAR right now. 2. Kyle Busch(LW: 2[+/-0]): Kyle came from 43rd starting spot to finish fourth, and did so quietly. Perhaps this is the best [...]

Bayne Out For Dover, Should Return For All Star Race
Trevor Bayne will spend another weekend out of the car this weekend as he continues to recover from a mysterious illness. NASCAR K&N East Series driver Kevin Swindell will take over Bayne’s #16 Ford for Saturday’s NASCAR Nationwide race at Dover. Bayne’s condition is reportedly getting better, and it sounds like he really wants to get back behind the wheel of the car. Roush Fenway Racing’s decision to sideline Bayne again this weekend is simply a precautionary measure. Bayne is expected to return to the cockpit next weekend for the Sprint All Star race in the Wood Brothers’ #21, as [...]
It’s already been a fun week in NASCAR news. First, with the announcement of Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick’s penalties, and then with the declaration of Jimmie Johnson Day. If you haven’t heard, Busch and Harvick were each fined $25,000 and placed on probation for four races following an incident after the Darlington race Saturday night. The move appears to be an attempt by NASCAR to please everybody, by levying penalties so as to make a point, but not making them harsh so as to stick with the “Boys, have at it” mentality. Instead, the penalties have pleased nobody and [...]
SCS NASCAR Power Rankings: Darlington
The boys of NASCAR were in Darlington this week for the annual Mother’s Day eve Southern 500. Who conquered the Lady in Black and who’s tempers boiled over? We’ve got you covered! Carl Edwards maintains the top spot in the rankings this week following a stout runner-up performance at Darlington. His teammate Greg Biffle is the big winner this week, up seven spots. Down seven spots is this week’s big loser, Paul Menard. New this week is Darlington winner Regan Smith. He replaces Joey Logano, who crashed out. Again. So without further adieu, here are this week’s SCS NASCAR Power [...]

Bayne Released From Hospital; Still Out Of Car
Good news from the Roush Fenway Racing camp. Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne has been released from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where he had been treated for symptoms of an unknown illness. Bayne was admitted to the Mayo Clinic last Thursday, and spent a week undergoing treatment and tests before being released yesterday. Bayne will not drive this weekend at Darlington, and his immediate future behind the wheel remains uncertain. The bad news for Bayne at this point is that, realisticly, his hopes at claiming the NASCAR Nationwide Series title this season are now pretty much shot after he [...]
Every story I tell and every article I write on here is told through the eyes of a NASCAR fan. Not a driver, an owner, or a member of the mainstream media. Which is why my opinion on the Juan Pablo Montoya v. Ryan Newman incidents Saturday night will likely differ from everyone else’s. By now we all know the story. If you don’t, here’s the video: For starters, in my opinion, Newman did nothing wrong and Montoya’s acts were completely unjustified. I don’t care if it was just a quarter of the way into the race; Newman had every right to [...]
SCS NASCAR Power Rankings: Richmond
The boys of NASCAR were in Richmond this week for some short track racing. Who had enough to go the distance and who fell short? We’ve got you covered! Carl Edwards maintains the top spot this weekend, simply because he is the man. Kyle Busch was the Richmond winner, and he moved up four spots to second in the rankings. Our big winners this week are AJ Allmendinger and Tony Stewart, up five spots each. The big loser was Jeff Gordon, down six slots. Kasey Kahne is our newest addition this week. He replaces David Gilliland. And now, without further [...]
