NCWTS: Ron Hornaday wins Keystone Light Pole for Smith’s 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Ron Hornaday, Jr claimed the pole position for Saturday night’s Smith’s 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Hornaday, already a three time winner this season and a four-time series champion, qualified the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet Silverado with a lap of 30.672 seconds, 176.056 mph. This was good enough to give Hornaday his first pole of the 2011 season and his 27th in 296 career Truck Series starts.

SPEED’s race coverage from Las Vegas Motor Speedway begins Saturday afternoon at 3pm EST with the “NASCAR Camping World Series Truck Series Setup.” The Smith’s 350 will immediately start afterwards.

Saturday’s race will be the 21st of 25 on the schedule. Dillon comes into the race with a three point lead over Buescher  and 19 over Sauter. Timothy Peters(-40) and Hornaday(-42) remain in contention as well.

Who will in the Smith’s 350 from Las Vegas Motor Speedway? Can Dillon keep the points lead or will Buescher leave Vegas feeling lucky?
