In 2011, Roush Fenway Racing began a Ricky vs. Trevor promotion that pitted Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne in various off-the-wall competitions. That competition has died down in 2012, especially since Bayne has raced only sparingly for RFR in Nationwide competition this year because of sponsorship issues.
But Valvoline, a sponsor of Roush Fenway Racing through its NextGen brand, took advantage of the popularity of the whole Ricky vs. Trevor thing and pitted the two drivers in a competition at a Charlotte-area O’Reilly Auto Parts. The two drivers went undercover to see who could sell the most Valvoline NextGen.
Here’s a video sent to Stock Car Spin from Cohn @Wolfe, a PR firm handling things for Valvoline. Enjoy!
