Champion's Week agenda

Recently, NASCAR released the event schedule for its Sprint Cup Series Champion’s Week in Las Vegas. The climax of the event will be the series awards banquet on Nov. 30 at Wynn Las Vegas. Throughout Champion’s Week (Nov. 27-Dec. 1), show cars will be on display at various locations in Las Vegas. The champion’s car will be parked near the “Welcome To Las Vegas” sign. Other cars will be located at New York, New York; the Coca-Cola Store; Bally’s and Fashion Show.

Below, is a sampling of activities that are open to fans:

Nov. 27 at 4 p.m. — “NASCAR Live” with Eli Gold will broadcast from Wynn. Fans who attend the live broadcast will have the opportunity to watch Gold interview the 2012 Sprint Cup champion and ask questions.

Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. — Fans may attend Fanfest on Fremont St. and watch the 12 Chase drivers walk the red carpet en route to a game show-format, on-stage event.

Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. — Chase drivers will drive their cars in a parade down Las Vegas Blvd., beginning and ending at Planet Hollywood. The parade route will include pit stops and burnouts. Following this event, reigning champion Tony Stewart will hand out his yearly “Stewie Awards” during a live radio broadcast on Sirius XM NASCAR Radio channel 90.

Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. — Sprint Cup Series awards banquet (limited number of fan tickets available).
