Shop for NASCAR memorabilia for a good cause

The Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma and the NASCAR Foundation have teamed up to raise money through and online auction of NASCAR memorabilia. The items up for bid may be found on NASCAR.com/Foundation, and bids will be taken until Dec. 3.

“The NASCAR Foundation is proud to partner with great charities like Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma through our online autions,” NASCAR Foundation Executive Director Lorene King said. “The impact that the institute is making towards advancements in the treatment of pediatric trauma is truly remarkable.”

The Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma is located within Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and was established with the help of NASCAR team owner Richard Childress and his wife, Judy. The institute’s mission is to save injured children’s lives through research and education.

Items in the auction include race-used, autographed sheet metal, firesuits, a steering wheel and several helmets. To view a complete list of items and for additional auction information, visit NASCAR.com/Foundation.

Donations for the Childress Institute are also being accepted. Donations may be made by visiting InjuredKids.org and clicking “Donate” or by going to WakeHealth.org/OnlineGift.htm. A $10 donation may also be made via text by texting WIN to 80077.
