Just before the Thanksgiving holiday, NASCAR revealed its star-studded lineup for the yearly Sprint Cup Series awards banquet to be held Friday in Las Vegas. Train, Lifehouse, Natasha Bedingfield, Phillip Phillips and performers from Las Vegas show The Beatles LOVE are among the acts that will perform. As previously announced, comedian and reality show star Howie Mandell will host the banquet.
Train is a three-time Grammy Award-winning rock band. The group also has two Billboard Music Awards, specifically the Top Rock Artist and Top Rock Song awards. Other awards won by Train include the 2011 American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Pop Music Award for Song of the Year.
Lifehouse and Bedingfield are slated to perform their joint hit “Between the Raindrops.” Lifehouse has been touted as one of the most successful bands of the 21st century since putting 15-straight singles on multiple music charts. The group claimed the Billboard Hot 100 Single of the Year Award in 2001.
Phillips won American Idol in season 11 of the hit FOX reality competition show. After winning Idol, his first single, “Home,” went double platinum. Phillips’ performance at the Sprint Cup banquet on Friday will be among his first since the release of his debut album.
The Beatles Love is a performance that combines the vision of Cirque du Soleil with the sound of legendary rock band, The Beatles. The performance at Friday night’s banquet is expected to include several styles of dance and acrobatics.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards show is scheduled to get underway at 8 p.m. ET on Friday with live television coverage on SPEED. Live radio broadcasts will also be carried on Motor Racing Network and Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.
