Earlier this month, several online sports news outlets including ESPN.com, SBnation.com and Yahoo! Sports began reporting that Danica Patrick will compete in 10 NASCAR Nationwide Series races in 2013 while embarking on her first season of full-time Sprint Cup Series action. But Patrick’s 2013 Nationwide Series team won’t be the No. 7 team she drove for full-time in 2012 and part-time in 2010 in 2011. Instead, she is speculated to be heading to the newly-renamed Turner Scott Motorsports (formerly Turner Motorsports). No official announcement has come from TSMS, though.
Patrick finished 10th in the championship points standings in 2012, her only season racing full-time in the Nationwide Series. After running a part-time Sprint Cup schedule last year, she moves to that series full-time in 2013 to drive a No. 10 Chevrolet for Stewart-Haas Racing.
While a Nationwide schedule for Patrick has not yet been released, multiple reports have Patrick competing in the Feb. 23 season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, as well as races at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway and Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International. Her sponsor for her part-time gig with Turner Scott Motorsports is expected to be GoDaddy.
