NASCAR fans get chance to get up close to favorite drivers

As previously reported, the NASCAR Acceleration Weekend 2013 preview is scheduled for Feb. 8-10 in Charlotte, N.C. While Feb. 8 is reserved for the NASCAR Hall of Fame inductions of Buck Baker, Cotton Owens, Herb Thomas, Rusty Wallace and Leonard Wood, and Feb. 10 is set aside for the unveiling of the granite markers honoring the latest HOF inductees, Feb. 9 is the day set aside for fans to get up-close and personnel with their favorite drivers of today.

Many of the drivers from the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck series will be at the Charlotte Convention Center on between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Feb. 9, signing autographs and participating in question-and-answer sessions. Fans tickets for the event are $20 and may be purchased at Below, is a driver appearance schedule, with autograph times for each group beginning approximately 30 minutes after the given group’s start time:

9 a.m.-11 a.m. — Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Jamie McMurray, Mark Martin, Greg Biffle, Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Justin Allgaier, Eric McClure, Brian Scott, Timothy Peters, Miguel Paludo and Todd Peck.

10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. — Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer, Carl Edwards, Aric Almirola, Paul Menard, Joey Logano, Hal Martin, Elliott Sadler, Sam Hornish Jr., Jamie Dick, Sean Corr, Brennan Newberry, Ross Chastain and Ron Hornaday Jr.

Noon-2 p.m. — Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., David Ragan, David Gilliland, Marcos Ambrose, Ryan Newman, Brian Vickers, Johanna Long, Austin Dillon, Michael Annett, Nelson Piquet Jr., Ty Dillon, Joey Coulter, Trevor Bayne and Todd Bodine.

1:30-3:30 p.m. — Brad Keselowski, Danica Patrick, Kasey Kahne, Juan Pablo Montoya, Bobby Labonte, Justin Lofton, John Wes Townley, Regan Smith, Parker Kligerman, Max Gresham, Jeb Burton, Dakoda Armstrong, James Buescher, Michael McDowell and Alex Bowman.

By the way, a limited number of tickets are also available for the Feb. 8 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Those tickets are $45 and may also be purchased at Several Hall of Fame members including Junior Johnson, David Pearson, Bud Moore, Bobby Allison, Ned Jarrett, Dale Inman, Darrell Waltrip and Glen Wood will sign autographs prior to the ceremony from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. ET at the Hall of Fame for fans with Hall of Fame tickets. Fans may also attend the Feb. 10 marker unveiling with a NASCAR Hall of Fame admission ticket. New inductees Wallace and Leonard Wood will sign autographs at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Hall.
