Dale Jr. heads to snack food aisle

Lays, Ruffles, Pringles — these are just a few familiar names you’ll find if you walk down your typical grocery store snack aisle. Sometime in February, you’ll be able to add a Dale Earnhardt Jr. brand to that list. NASCAR’s most popular driver recently partnered with Perham, Minn.-based KLN Family Brands, makers of Barrel O’Fun snacks, to release a line of Earnhardt-branded potato chips.

“We’ve been working on this deal for awhile,” Earnhardt said earlier this month. “I didn’t expect it to get that much attention, but everybody kept texting me. All my friends want bags of chips now.”

Four flavors of the chips will be available: Crispy Original, Carolina Barbecue, Creole & Green Onion and Zesty Jalapeno. In case you’re wondering, Earnhardt recommends the Zesty Jalapeno.

According to KLN, the chips will hit store shelves nationwide in February.
