Former Bill Davis employee guilty of embezzlement

According to a recent report in the Greensboro (N.C) News & Record, Anne Winner, a former Bill Davis Racing employee, pleaded guilty earlier this week to six counts of embezzlement and one count of obtaining property under false pretenses while employed by BDR.

Winner was a business manager with BDR, an organization that fielded entries across NASCAR’s three national series — Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck — through the 2008 race season.

Winner was sentenced four to five months in prison for one of the embezzlement counts and six-consecutive suspended sentences of six to eight months for the other charges. She was also ordered to pay Bill Davis Racing $100,000. According to the newspaper article, she has already paid $75,000 of that amount.
