Former NASCAR driver arrested for drugs after multi-state chase

Tyler Walker may have been suspended from NASCAR competition in 2007 because of a failed drug test, but apparently, the former Nationwide and Camping World Truck series competitor still likes to drive fast. Last week, he led police on a multi-state chase through Nevada, Arizona and Utah.

Walker’s car was stopped by spikes laid down police. Walker then got out of his car and fled on foot. When he was finally apprehended, he was arrested on several alcohol and drug-related charges.

“During an inventory of the vehicle, methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol were found,” Utah Highway Patrol Corporal Todd Johnson said, according to the St. George (Utah) Spectrum.

Raelie McDonald, a passenger in the car, was also arrested.

Before his suspension, Walker competed in 19 Nationwide Series races and nine Camping World Truck Series event. His stats include a single top-10 finish in Truck Series competition.

Not only does Walker seem to still enjoy driving fast, he must still enjoy what got him suspended.
