With Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway being the first race at a half-mile for NASCAR’s still-new Gen-6 car, teams had an opportunity to get in some testing or early practice time at the track on Thursday.
“We’ve scheduled a few of these early test sessions at some of our race tracks,” NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton said. It gives the teams an opportunity to get the best information they can to prepare for the upcoming weekend’s race. All in all, things are going pretty smoothly.”
Teams tested/practiced most of the day, with track time split into two sessions. Below, are the speeds posted during Thursday’s time on the race track.
