Penske crew chiefs on duty as team awaits appeal

Earlier this week, a few members of Penske Racing’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series program, including Paul Wolfe (No. 2 team — driver Brad Keselowski) and Todd Gordon (No. 22 team — driver Joey Logano) were suspended for six races by NASCAR because of non-approved rear-end suspension parts discovered by NASCAR officials during pre-race inspection at Texas Motor Speedway on April 13.

Despite the suspensions, those members of Penske Racing will be fulfilling their duties this weekend at Kansas Speedway, including in Sunday’s STP 400 at the track. Penske Racing is appealing the penalties handed down by NASCA, including the suspensions. That appeal will be heard by the Stock Car Racing Commission at a later date. Until the appeal hearing is held, team members will be allowed the perform their regular duties at the race track.
