Statistically speaking: a look at the Sprint All-Star Race

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races in most teams’ backyard Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway. No points are on the line this weekend — just pride, a trophy and a $1 million purse — in the Sprint All-Star Race. Drivers who won last year or up to this point in 2013, have won the All-Star Race in the last 10 years or have been crowned series champion within the last 10 years already have their spots secured for Saturday night’s main event. For everyone else, there’s the Sprint Showdown.
