Rain postpones Nationwide race until Sunday

As a result of rain on Saturday evening, the Pioneer 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Iowa Speedway in Newton that was originally scheduled as a Saturday night race will, instead, be a Sunday midday race. The event has been rescheduled for a 10 a.m. local (11 a.m. ET) green flag on Sunday.

After a rain shower on Saturday evening, attempts were made to dry the track, but another shower came and erased the drying efforts already made.

When the race takes the green flag on Sunday morning, Austin Dillon will start from the pole for the third-straight Nationwide Series event. He’ll be joined on the front row by Sam Hornish Jr. Brian Scott and Brian Vickers will start on the second row in the third and fourth positions.

As a result of the time change, television coverage of the race also moves from ESPN to ESPN2.
