Scott Miller named crew chief of No. 55 for rest of season

Michael Waltrip Racing announced on Monday that Scott Miller will serve as crew chief of the No. 55 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team for the remainder of the 2013 race season. Miller currently holds the position of MWR Vice-President of Competition. Brian Vickers will drive the No. 55 for the remaining races this season, with the exception of the Oct. 20 race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. Team co-owner Michael Waltrip will be in the car for that event.

Serving as the interim crew chief of the No. 55, Miller replaces Rodney Childers, who is still under contract with Michael Waltrip Racing until the end of the year.

Miller joined MWR prior to the 2012 season. Prior to joining Michael Waltrip Racing, he worked as a crew cheif for several different NASCAR teams.

Billy Scott, who has been a race engineer on the team since 2008, will assume the responsibilities associated with car set-up and weekend preparations.
