Travis Kvapil arrested for domestic violence

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and 2003 Camping World (then-Craftsman) Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil was arrested Tuesday on charges of assault on a female and false imprisonment following a domestic dispute with his wife Jennifer Kvapil in Mooresville, N.C. He was held overnight in the Iredell County Jail and freed on bond after a district court appearance on Wednesday.

Ironically, his BK Racing team is supporting Domestic Violence Awareness Month and a photo of decals on the car promoting domestic violence awareness were tweeted from the team’s official Twitter account on Wednesday. The tweet has since been deleted.

BK Racing has not comment at this time. Kvapil is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 19.

Kvapil has been racing at the national level in NASCAR since 2001. He has made 240 Sprint Cup Series starts, in addition to five starts in the Nationwide Series and 143 in the Truck Series. He has nine national-level wins, all coming in the Truck Series.
