With Jeff Gordon’s win of the Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on Sunday, Chevrolet clinched the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Manufacturers’ Cup with three races remaining this year. It’s Chevrolet’s 11th-consecutive manufacturers’ title and the 37th all-time for the manufacturer at NASCAR’s top level.
Gordon’s most recent win was the 14th of the year for the Chevrolet camp and the 716th all-time.
In Sunday’s race, Jimmie Johnson gave the manufacturer a second presence in the top-five by finishing fifth. Johnson is currently tied with Toyota driver Matt Kenseth atop the driver championship points standings heading into the final three races. Gordon is in third, 27 points back.
