Itinerary set for NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion's Week

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will head to Las Vegas for its Champion’s Week for the fifth-straight year next month, with the visit culminating in the annual Sprint Cup Series Awards ceremony on Dec. 6 at Wynn Las Vegas. Drivers finishing in the top-10 of the championship points standings, among others, will be recognized. The ceremony will broadcast on FOX Sports 2 on online at, beginning at 9 p.m. ET on Dec. 6.

Here is a rundown of some of the other activities that make up Champion’s Week in Las Vegas, as listed by the NASCAR Media Group:

Dec. 3 — NASCAR Live: Eli Gold will discuss the 2013 season with the Sprint Cup Series chamkpion. The show will air from the Sports Book at the Wynn from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and can be heard on MRN. Fans may attend the broadcast free of charge.

Dec. 3 – 6 — NASCAR Pit Stop Tour: Show cars will be featured in locales throughout the famed Las Vegas strip from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. each day. Cars will be located at the Tropicana, the Palazzo, Harrah’s, the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, the Coca-Cola Store and M&Ms World.

Dec. 4 — Fanfest Presented by Las Vegas Motor Speedway: A fan event at the Fremont Street Experience that beginas at 1:30 p.m. and includes all 13 Chase for the Sprint Cup drivers.

Dec. 4 — Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award Reception: This year’s Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award finalists will be honored with a reception from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Wunn Las Vegas.

Dec. 5 — NASCAR NMPA Myers Brothers Awards Luncheon: Team and individual awards, including the Most Popular Driver Award and Rookie of the Year Award, will be presented between 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the Encore Ballroom at the Wynn.

Dec. 5 — NASCAR Victory Lap: This parade featuring the 13 Chase drivers will take the green flag at 3:30 p.m. and begin and finish at the Miracle Mile Shops on Las Vegas Blvd. The event will feature driver introductions, pit stops and burnouts.

Dec. 5 — NASCAR After the Lap: Held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Pearl Palms Concern Theater inside the Palms Casino Hotel, this event will include a question and answer session with Chase drivers.
