Todd Parrott reinstated

Daytona Preseason Thunder - Day 2Veteran crew chief Todd Parrott was reinstated by NASCAR as a result of his completion of NASCAR’s Road to Recovery Program, according to an official statement from NASCAR on Tuesday. Parrott was indefinitely suspended from competition in October after violating NASCAR’s substance abuse policy.

At the time of his suspension, Parrott was crew chief on the No. 43 team for driver Aric Almirola at Richard Petty Motorsports. He joined RPM during the 2010 race season, but was released from the team days after his suspension.

Parrott is a Cup level championship crew chief, guiding Dale Jarrett to the Winston (now-Sprint) Cup title in 1999. Parrott also lays claim to the honor of being the third-winningest active crew chief at NASCAR’s top level with 31 trips to victory lane.
