Power Rankings Texas - Fantasy Insider

Six races in the book and six different winners heading into the first of a Texas two-step.

The “Outlaw”(Kurt Busch) survived a sparring match with Brad Keselowski and ran down Jimmie Johnson to give car #41 its first ever Sprint Cup race win.

From a paper clip to the super speedway of Texas Motor Speedway, the Duck Commander is calling all left turners for the hunt this weekend.

You have to have big ones this weekend with two to three grooves as the preferred racing line makes dive bombing into the turns at a whopping 200 mph.

There have been 19 different pole winners a Texas but the following active drivers have the most in two:

Dale Earnhardt Jr

Jeff Gordon

Ryan Newman

Martin Truex Jr

Ryan Newman is the only driver to sweep both poles at Texas in one season but the three active drivers with the best average starting spots the past five years are Jimmie Johnson 7.4, Carl Edwards 8.9 and Greg Biffle at 9.1.

Chevrolet won two of the last four Texas races and stick with the household names, as this race pays big time money for the team owners.

I don’t know if the streak of six different winners will keep going this weekend, but I’m sure Jimmie Johnson will take no prisoners after what he’s been through the past two weeks. I have no tire information at this time but will include it on my Ice Pick’s.

This is a welcomed sight for fantasy managers, as the past two weeks have been brutal to some, as the unexpected reeked havoc on our fantasy teams.

Here’s the ten best the past five years at Texas:

10 Ryan Newman- has two top 10s, avg finish 14.1.

9 Clint Bowyer- 1 top 5 and 5 top 10s, avg finish 12.8.

6 Kasey Kahne- 3 top 5s and 4 top 10s, avg finish 11.3.

5 Denny Hamlin- 2 wins, 2 top 5s and 3 top 10s, avg finish 10.9.
