Chase score card: leaving Darlington Raceway

With his second win of the season coming Saturday night in the Bojangles’ Southern 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Darlington (S.C.) Racway, Kevin Harvick assued his spot in the 16-driver Chase for the Sprint Cup championship post-season, that is if he’s in the top-30 in points come the end of race 26 at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in September. After his second win, Harvick climbed to 22nd in the standings, 68 points ahead of 31st.

Harvick is the first two-time winner of the year. There are six one-race winners: Dale Earnhardt Jr., Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch and Joey Logano. Five of those six drivers are in the top-10 of the standings, while Kurt Busch is stuck back in 26th, 46 points ahead of Reed Sorenson, the 31st-place driver.
