NASCAR schedule and weather outlook for Talladega Superspeedway

Both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide series head to Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway this weekend for Aaron’s Dream weekend, consisting of the Aaron’s 312 Nationwide Series race on Saturday and Sunday’s Aaron’s 499 Sprint Cup event. Here is the weekend schedule (courtesy of NASCAR.com):

THURSDAY

1-2 p.m. ET — Nationwide Series practice
4:30-6 p.m. ET — Nationwide Series practice

FRIDAY

2-2:50 p.m. ET — Sprint Cup Series practice (TV: FOX Sports 1)
3:30-4:25 p.m. ET — Sprint Cup Series practice (TV: FOX Sports 1)
6:40 p.m. ET — Nationwide Series qualifying (TV: FOX Sports 1)

SATURDAY

1:10 p.m. ET — Sprint Cup Series qualifying (TV: FOX)
3 p.m. ET — Nationwide Series race (TV: ESPN, beginning at 2:30 p.m.)

SUNDAY

1:10 p.m. ET — Sprint Cup Series race (TV: FOX, beginning at 12:30 p.m.)

Schedule is subject to change because of weather or the possible longer than expected duration of previously-scheduled events.

WEATHER

According to weather.com, there is no chance of rain in the Talladega, Ala., area at any time during the race weekend. Skies are expected to be partly cloudy on Thursday and Friday, with highs expected to reach the low 70s both days. The temperature is expected to dip down to 49 degrees both Thursday and Friday nights. Skies are expected to be sunny on both Saturday and Sunday, with Saturday’s high expected to be around 76 degrees before the temperature drops to around 51 overnight. Sunday afternoon’s temperature is supposed to reach about 83 degrees, with a low of 56 Sunday night.
