Statistically speaking: a look at Dover International Speedway

facebooktwitterreddit

Next up for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is Sunday’s date with Dover (Del.) International Speedway for the FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks. It’s the 13th race on the 2014 schedule. Ten different drivers have made their ways to victory lane in the first 12 races, with Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick still the only drivers with multi-win status. Reigning and sixth time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson added his name to the winners’ list last weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Johnson’s also a favorite heading into Dover, as he leads the way with eight-career wins at the track. Johnson’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon has scored four Dover wins over the course of his Cup career, while Ryan Newman’s tally is three.
