This weekend, both the NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup series head to the Irish Hills of Brooklyn, Mich., for racing at Michigan International Speedway, with the Nationwide Series racing on Saturday and the Sprint Cup Series on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Camping World Truck Series heads to Gateway Motorsports Park near St. Louis to race on Saturday night. It’ll be the first NASCAR-sanctioned national-level event at Gateway, formerly known as Gateway International Raceway, in several years.

In Brooklyn, Mich., site of Michigan International Speedway, host to the Nationwide and Sprint Cup series this weekend, there’s a 20 percent chance of rain on Friday that could affect practice sessions for both series, as well as qualifying for the Sprint Cup Series. The high temperature for Friday is expected to reach 66 degrees, before dipping to a low of 45 degrees Friday night.
Skies are expected to be sunny, with no chance of rain forecasted for Saturday, Nationwide Series race day. The predicted high for Saturday is in the mid-70s, with an overnight low of 50 degrees expected.
Sunday is expected to be the warmest day of the weekend, with a high of 82 degrees expected to be reached below a partly cloudy sky. There is a 10 percent chance of rain. The low for Sunday night is expected to dip to 67 degrees.
Meanwhile, in Madison, Ill., the locale of Gateway Motorsports Park, the weather looks good for racing with no weather-related interference. There is no chance of rain Friday or Saturday. Temperatures on Friday are expected between a high of 75 degrees and a low of 55 degrees. On Saturday, the predicted high/low is 81 degrees/61 degrees.
