Statistically speaking: a look at Kentucky Speedway

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series goes night racing this weekend in Saturday night’s Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta. Matt Kenseth heads into the race as the defending winner.

Kenseth is among the drivers still in search of his first win of 2014. Kentucky Speedway may be the perfect place for him to change that. He’s not only the defending race winner at Kentucky, he boasts stats that include three top-10 finishes three races at Kentucky.

Kentucky Speedway’s history when it comes to Sprint Cup racing is short, as there’s only been three Cup races at the Northern Kentucky track. Other Cup winners at Kentucky, aside from Kenseth, are Brad Keselowski (2012) and Kyle Busch, who won the first race at the track in 2011. Despite not being one of the three winners at the track, Johnson leads the way in driver ratings at Kentucky Speedway at 125.9.
