NASCAR Champion's Week festivities remain in Vegas

NASCAR announced on Tuesday that the Sprint Cup Series Awards banquet, in addition to other NASCAR Champion’s Week activities will, again, be held in Las Vegas for the sixth-consecutive year. The awards banquet will conclude Champion’s Week activities on Dec. 5 at Wynn Las Vegas.

“Two of the world’s most recognizable brands, NASCAR and Las Vegas, have developed a strong and successful partnership that delivers unrivaled excitement to the sport’s loyal fans,” Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority President and CEO Rossi Ralenkotter said. “We’re proud to celebrate this milestone as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards and Champion’s Week return for the sixth year, proving that no destination matches the passion and energy of NASCAR like Las Vegas.

The Sprint Cup Series Awards will be shown on FOX Sports 1 at 9 p.m. ET on Dec. 5. While the television broadcast is the same night as the banquet and begins before the banquet concludes, there will be a significant delay. MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will broadcast the awards banquet live.

The Sprint Cup Series Awards ceremony will honor, not only the championship driver, team, owner and sponsor, but also the other top-10 finishers. Other awards, including Most Popular Driver and Rookie of the Year, will be awarded earlier during a Meyers Brothers Luncheon, also held in Las Vegas.

A complete schedule of events for Champion’s Week will be announced at a later date. Entertainment for the awards banquet will also be announced later.
