NASCAR Nationwide Series at Chicagoland Speedway: entry list

The NASCAR Nationwide Series is the only one of NASCAR’s three national touring series in action this weekend. The series heads to Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill., for Saturday night’s running of the EnjoyIllinois.com 300. The race is scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 7:30 p.m. local (CT)/8:30 p.m. ET. Qualifying is scheduled for earlier the same day at 3:10 p.m. local/4:10 p.m. ET.

With the Sprint Cup Series taking the weekend off, the Nationwide Series entry list for Chicagoland is missing some of the regularly-appearing Sprint Cup regulars. The one Sprint Cup regular of note expected to race at Chicagoland is Kasey Kahne, who’ll be driving the No. 5 Chevrolet of JR Motorsports. Meanwhile, Sam Hornish Jr. will return to the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota seat.

The EjoyIllinois.com 300 is the second of four Nationwide Insurance Dash 4 Cash races. As the Dash 4 Cash bonus winner last weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, Regan Smith is, once again, one of the four drivers eligible to race for the bonus at Chicagoland. The other three are Chris Buescher, Elliott Sadler and Brian Scott.

The preliminary entry list for Saturday night’s race lists 41 drivers to attempt to qualify for the 40-car race. Here’s a look at the entry list:
