Felix Sabates' grandson killed in accidental shooting

Feliciano Sabates, the 18-year-old grandson of Chip Ganassi Racing co-owner Felix Sabates, was killed in an accidental shooting in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on Saturday, according to a report from MRN and confirmed by the race team.

“The information and physical evidence was consistent that this was a careless act rather than an intentional act, thus the manslaughter by culpable negligence charge,” a police spokesman told the Sun Sentinel, according to the story on MRN.com

According to the police report, Sabates was shot by a 17-year-old with a 9mm pistol. Sabates, the shooter, and friends were playing with the gun. The shooter faces a charge of manslaughter.
