NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Talladega Superspeedway: entry list

The NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup rolls into Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway this weekend for Sunday’s Geico 500. It’s the six race of the 2014 Chase and the elimination race of the second round under the new Chase format. After The Talladega race, the Chase field will be whittled from 12 to eight drivers.

There are 46 drivers on the entry list for the 43-car race, including Ryan Blaney in a No. 12 third Team Penske entry and semi-retired driver, car owner and current Dancing with the Stars contestant Michael Waltrip in the No. 66 Ford.

Qualifying for the Geico 500 is scheduled for 3:40 p.m. local/4:40 p.m. ET on Saturday. After than session, three drivers will find themselves without a starting spot for Sunday’s race. The race is scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 1 p.m. local/2 p.m. ET on Sunday.
