OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Accomplished road racer Ron Fellows will return to the seat he’s occupied for the last four years in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, as JR Motorsports announced today he will compete in all three road-course races this season in the No. 5 Chevrolet. Those races include Road America (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) on June 23, Watkins Glen International (Watkins Glen, N.Y.) on Aug. 11, and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) on Aug. 18.

Fellows is a former winner for JR Motorsports, prevailing victorious in JRM’s No. 5 Chevrolet on Aug. 2, 2008, at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. In his career he has four Nationwide Series wins, three of which were collected at Watkins Glen.

“I have competed in a lot of races with JR Motorsports, and it’s been great fun,” Fellows said. “They have an amazing group of people, and we’ve been competitive at almost all of the races. That’s what brings me back and keeps me young. My relationship with Dale Jr. began more than 10 years ago, and I’m proud to have driven for both him and his father.”

Fellows will race at Road America with sponsorship from AER Manufacturing, as he looks to improve on a runner-up finish in last year’s event. AER, a world leader in engine remanufacturing for the past 60 years, has supported Fellows in the Trans Am Series, NASCAR and the American Le Mans Series since 1990.

Canadian Tire, the largest automotive retailer in Canada with more than 480 stores, will sponsor Fellows at Watkins Glen and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Both companies are returning for their third year of partnership with JR Motorsports.

“This is Ron’s fifth year driving for JR Motorsports, and each year we are excited to welcome him back,” said JR Motorsports general manager, Kelley Earnhardt Miller. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the road courses, and he makes us an instant contender before we ever unload the car. Watching Ron Fellows negotiate a road course is one of the pure joys of racing.”

Fellows will be paired with veteran crew chief Tony Eury Sr. The duo found success in 2010, racing to one top-five and two top-10 finishes in three races.

A native of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Fellows has scored top-10 finishes in six of nine career races with JRM. He led seven laps en route to a 2008 win in Montreal. To go with his four career victories, Fellows has nine top-fives, 12 top-10s and two poles.

A longtime sports car and road-racing veteran, Fellows is credited with three class championships in the American Le Mans Series, two class wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and 19 overall victories in the Sports Car Club of America’s Trans-Am Series as a member of the Corvette Racing Team. His NASCAR credentials include six overall wins (two in the Camping World Truck Series), and two runner-up finishes in Sprint Cup competition.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to the road-course in Sonoma, California this weekend, which can mean only two things.

We get to see something other than left turns, and the return of our beloved road-course ringers.

Among these “Ringers” includes Boris Said, who is always a threat when the circuit hits Infineon Raceway. He will be piloting the #08 No Fear Energy Drink Ford Fusion for the small team owned by John Carter of North Georgia. These guys are not just a favorite; They are a sentimental favorite.

Another “Ringer” in the field will be Ron Fellows. Fellows’ multi-turn skills make him a threat at all road-courses, but the car he is driving will make him downright scary. Fellows will be driving the #09 Miccosukee Dodge owned by James Finch. This team has already seen Victory Lane once in 2009 at Talladega. They will be out to prove that the ‘Dega win was no fluke.

Sonoma also marks the return of the beloved Canadian, Patrick Carpentier. The driver who once pledged to streak down pit road if he was voted into the All Star race will be substituting for Michael Waltrip in the #55 Napa Toyota. Driving Michael Waltrip Racing equipment should give Carpentier a good shot at a win.

Other “Ringers” racing at Infineon include PJ Jones, Brian Simo, Chris Cook, Brandon Ash, Tom Hubert and Max Papis.

Scott Pruitt is among popular “Ringers” not participating in Sunday’s race.
