Kevin Harvick may have had the dominant truck in Friday’s Lucas Oil 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Dover (Del.) International Speedway, but the dominant truck doesn’t always win. And sometimes, rain has something to do with that.

After the race was called early after the ninth and final caution of the race with 57 laps of the scheduled 200-lap distance remaining, NASCAR ended the race and Todd Bodine was declared the winner.

“I’ve lost them this way. Now I’ve won one this way,” Bodine said after being declared the winner. “I’ll take it.”

Kevin Harvick dominated the race prior to the first of two red flags for rain on lap 120. After starting the race on the pole, he led 96 of the first 120 laps.

“We didn’t have the best truck,” Bodine said. “Kevin had the best truck, but racing isn’t always about who has the fastest truck.”

Harvick’s No. 2 truck was up front when the yellow flag waved on lap 96. He wanted to pit but crew chief Ernie Cope told him to stay out because rain was coming. The race went back to green but the caution came out again on lap 111, with Harvick still up front.

Before going back to green, the race was red flagged for rain on lap 120. When the race returned to yellow, Harvick and others who had stayed out during the previous caution made their ways down pit road.

Miguel Paludo, after staying out, restarted up front but lost the lead to Bodine on the restart. When the yellow waved again on lap 126, Pauludo gave up second to pit, while everyone else stayed out. Parker Kligerman then claimed the second spot.

The caution came out for the ninth time in the race won lap 143 for more rain, with the red flag that ultimately ended the race coming out a few laps later.

Bodine was still up front and Kligerman second at the time of the final caution to claim the win and runner-up finish. By the final red flag, Harvick had worked his way back up to third.

Laps: 134
Miles: 201
Track: 1.5 mile Oval
Qualifying; Friday, 4:30 pm EST on SPEED
2010 polesitter: Austin Dillon
2010 winner: Kyle Busch
2010 champion: Todd Bodine

Last race of the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. On Friday night, the trucks take to the 1.5 mile oval of Homestead-Miami Speedway in the sunshine state for the Ford 200. The series only races here for the last race of the season. Sort of a treat to end the season in warmth.

Last year, Austin Dillon captured his first pole in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, while Kyle Busch ran away from Ron Hornaday after a restart with four laps to go. Busch would win the race by 0.577 seconds over the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Series champion. The win would get Kyle Busch Motorsports their first owner’s championship, and they would become the first team to win it in their first year of being an organization. With Todd Bodine finishing fourth, he would capture his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship.

All eyes will be on the trucks racing on Friday night. There is a tight battle for the championship again this year. Austin Dillon currently leads Johnny Sauter by 20 points and James Buescher by 28. Anyone could be crowned the champion after 201 miles.

Live coverage for the Ford 200 from Homestead-Miami Speedway will begin at 7:30pm EST with the NCWTS Setup on SPEED. Who do you think will win the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship? My pick is on Austin Dillon.
